BEGINNERS RAKU POTTERY CLASS

4 Weeks - Wednesday evenings @ 3hrs per night
Starts 30th March 6.00pm – 9.00pm

Raku is a low fire technique - the glowing red hot pots are pulled from the kiln with long handled tongs at about 1000 degrees and are then smoked in sawdust for special effects such as crackle glazes and metallic lustres.

Students will use the technique of coiling to make a form suitable for raku firing – please note the pots will not be waterproof but will be sculptural or decorative. Size and firing limits as set by the teacher apply.
A fee for the use of glazes and kilns is included in the cost. Students provide own clay - available from teacher at the first class approx $10.

Cost $130.00
