Students will be encouraged to elaborate and build upon pre existing skills and individual styles.


Unit Descriptor

Increasingly contemporary art has many instances of artworks being made from diverse materials aswell as materials and techniques from established disciplines being utilized in cross discipline ways. This unit requires the skills and knowledge required to conceive, develop and produce artworks utilising techniques, equipment and media from a range of disciplines and includes working collaboratively. For the first 4 weeks students will participate in class workshops/activities, these are designed to open up the possibilities of amalgamating art disciplines into space to create sculptural artworks. The students will then be required to collaborate and establish a group concept in which individual projects will be developed and realised.
 Materials will be dependant on individual projects. All materials required for workshops will be supplied. Closed in shoes and old clothing is a must.
