Pottery Short course starting Wednesday evening this week

We are pleased to announce that a Pottery Short Course will be starting on Wednesday 30th October and run for six evenings until the 4th of December. The class is from 6.00pm until 9.00pm each evening.

The teacher for the course will be Rachel Platte (pictured below). Rachel was the major prize winner of the 2011 Melting Pot National Ceramics Award at Cairns Regional Gallery.

The cost of the course is $220 which includes glazing and firing of a number of pieces produced in class (size limits etc. set by the teacher). Students will be introduced to techniques including throwing on the pottery wheel and hand building (using the techniques of coil and press moulding). The course will also cover a number of decorating techniques and glazing of the finished pieces.

To enrol please contact the Admissions centre– and quote the delivery package number 312632 and class number 41088.

Please enrol as soon as possible to ensure your place in the class. Please do not leave it until the last minute to enrol as we need to determine viable class numbers.
A Diploma level ceramics class will be continuing in the other room of the ceramics centre on the Wednesday evenings – students will be welcome to watch special firings etc. from this class if they are interested.
